Approving updates before they get published

I want to designate one or more admin users to approve every time a page or post is updated. So that the authorized personnel's approval is required to publish everything.

I believe there should be an extension for this. Maybe Ryan, you can work on this and make my life easier. (giggles)

I want to know how to go about doing this myself, is there something similar like this out there someone else has done? because this would benefit me greatly.
