Hosting requirements
Created 6 years ago by darklord

Hi, What are the hosting requirements/parameters for Pyro? Any server/host with PHP? Also, what is Pyro producing as output - clean HTML pages or PHP pages? I don't see any extensions (.html or .php) at the end of files.

Thanks darklord

Hey there! Hosting requirements should be about like this: https://pyrocms.com/documentation/pyrocms/3.4/installation/server-requirements

SSD really goes a long way in performance with larger autoloaded projects too.

They are PHP pages. There is some chop (navigation generally) because of twig and not forcing spaceless but that can all be gotten rid of as well. Something I am looking into defaulting (cleaner HTML) without sacrificing as much processing as we've done in the past. I've heard great things about: https://github.com/zvineyard/html-compressor

And it'll come pre-loaded in the 3.5 release which I am kinda shuffling my feet on but should be released very soon.

Hope this answers your questions! Let me know if you have any more 😄

Hi Ryan,

Sorry for the tardy reply....but many thanks for those links. Eventually found the easy stats on the server requirements at the bottom of that first article.

Beyond your statement of them being PHP pages....I haven't a clue what you're talking about! LOL. Sorry, I'm not a developer so 'chop', 'twig', 'spaceless' are all over my head, I'm afraid! I'm just trying to get the server specs so that a site someone made can be moved to a server which can safely meet the requirements for hosting the CMS itself and it's output.

Many thanks

Hahahaha that's my bad for assuming! In short - Pyro creates dynamically generated pages. If you would like to know more about it or have more specific questions don't hesitate to ask! I'll be happy to answer them for ya 😄
